No, please DO NOT use your electric kettle on the stovetop! It is designed to be used ONLY with its electric base.

How should I clean, maintain and descale my DJ kettle?
Cleaning Your Kettle Regularly:
- Cool Down: Ensure the kettle is completely cool. Empty any leftover water.
- Interior Cleaning: Clean the inside with soapy water, then rinse. Do not immerse the kettle in water.
- Exterior Wiping: Use a damp cloth for the outside and base. Avoid abrasive cleaners or pads.
- Dishwasher Warning: The kettle and base should not be placed in a dishwasher as they contain electrical parts.
Descaling Your Kettle:
Limescale, resembling white or off-white stains, often forms at the bottom of the kettle. This is a normal buildup of minerals like calcium carbonate from water.

Product is great, but build needs work
"Don't get me wrong, I love this product and works like a charm, specifically the features the kettle has. I had this kettle for over a year until I discovered something wrong with the lid. It was hard to remove it from the kettle when I first bought it but didn't bother me. Then, one day, it suddenly snapped in half out of nowhere. The plastic part and the metal part are held together by three pieces of small metal (as seen in the photo). I checked on this company website first to see if they have is a replacement just for the lid and unfortunately, they don't even offer it. Again, I DON'T HATE THIS PRODUCT, I really enjoy using it. I just want to bring this up if anyone is interested in buying this product. The build quality in this product overall is all good except the lid. Unfortunately, I have to pry the lid open with a pocket knife now."

"Works and looks great! My only critique is that it doesn't "hold" the temp for that long. The "hold" setting will constantly reheat when the temp drops below a certain threshold of the target temp and it will often go a few degrees over the target. The DJ kettle took 66% of the time compared to my conventional stove top kettle to bring the same amount of water to boil (4 min compared to 6 min)"
